Spring 2025

It's been a few rotations of the earth since I sent an update and during those rotations, I've had the opportunity to take part in a number of training events in which I presented TMM.io and other ways that we serve the global ministry.

Unlock:Thailand

Phuket, Thailand in December is quite amazing. It was a last minute trip involving 3 flights over 2 days, which left me jet lagged to a point I only hit the beach for 5 minutes. I'm really not made for a lot of heat.

This training conference had numerous attendees from "secure" countries. These countries are talked about often when discussing the persecuted church so I can't list them here. What I can say is it is humbling to hear stories of our staff fleeing their own families due to the ramifications of not just being a Christian, but telling others about him. The consequences levied by the family is often worse than what the authorities would do.

As a number of the attendees were new to Digital Strategies, we started from scratch. We talked about content strategy, how to do followup in a digital world, and analytics. We also dove into how to create content with Artificial Intelligence.

Unlock:Uninterested

In March I took another red-eye flight to the amazing city of Tokyo. Riding a train from the airport into the city is an experience as you go from small homes and fields into an area where you can't see the tops of buildings. The Tokyo metro area has around the same amount of people as all of Canada was something I kept in mind as I experienced crowds in the train stations and in the areas of the city like the scramble crossing.

The other thing I kept in mind was that the vast majority of people in Japan (and Canada) would say they are uninterested in Jesus and Christianity in general. Our audience map is the guide we use when we try and figure out how to share Jesus and this part of the map is where the Spirit needs to really spark curiosity.
