"Don't Cook Bacon Naked" and other Marriage
Advice
The following are keys to marriage as suggested by
the people I work with, and their spouses.
• Always respect each other's feelings.
• Keep focused on God and He can do anything. We are not God.
• Don't be sharp. Don't be flat. Just be natural.
• Whenever your spouse signs out marriage books from the church
library and reads stuff out loud to you from the book, your appropriate
reply is to pay close attention, repeat what you've heard, keep good
eye contact and turn off the hockey game.
• Keep communication lines open always. Spend quality time together
and have fun.
• Don't fry bacon naked!
• Remember to keep your individual relationship with God a priority.
Having a strong relationship with God will continually strengthen your
marriage.
• Sheldon.. Remember to always say these three things:
1) Yes Dear
2) You're right!
3) I'm sorry.
Julie - make sure he always says those three things.
• H.Y.D.T.W.S.F.L?
• Be committed to your spouse, not just to your marriage.
• Ask lots of questions and then listen to the answers, even if
they're not what you thought they'd be.
• Never forget to put the lid down.
• Remember to be willing to listen, sometimes just that is enough.
(You don't always need to come up with the answers.)
• Read favorite poems to each other at bed-time.
• Pick up your socks. Take time to enjoy each other, even in the
busy times.
