Thanks to an awesome tutorial over at Joe White’s blog, I was able to get Subversion and TortoiseSVN installed and running in 9 minutes and 25 seconds. Most of the time was taken up trying to keep Kristin off of my laptop.

For those of you not familiar with the programs mentioned, Subversion is a revision-control system that tracks directories as well as files, making it a little more powerful than CVS itself. TortoiseCVS is a GUI that interacts with Subversion.

It’s tutorials like this that make it easy to use Open Source software. All it was missing was screenshots but with the incredibly detailed writing, Joe was able to make it one of the more easier installs i have done in the last few days.
