Windows Update… Doh!

I’m heading down to Orlando for some meetings and I borrowed the company loaner laptop. As part of the preparation, I thought I’d better check out Windows Update just to make sure I wouldn’t be sending out spam the whole time.
Only one word came to mind, that I was allowed to say. “DOH!”
First, just the fact that I needed to do 50+ “Critical Updates” made me say “Doh.”
Second, I realized that the computer had probably been spending its days sending out “Viagra” spam.
The reason I am writing this little entry is to say that every Friday, I head over to Windows Downgrade to see how many patches MS has created.

Not downloading all MS updates doesn’t mean that you send spam all day… :S

Critical Updates from MS usually are tagged with the notification that they patch a hole where attackers could gain control over your computer. Any guesses as to what these attackers do when they have control of your computer?

They delete all of your files :-P

Oh phew. As long as they don’t spam then I guess I don’t need to install the updates. That will save sooo much time for me to download spyware.
