Couch didn’t make it

OK, it’s the first update of the year for kotyk.com. It was a busy last two months as we moved into our new place late December. I’m not one for manual labour. It’s weird though to have a desire to clean the garage. I never had that desire when I lived at my parents. Anyways, the picture to the right is the last days of our couch. It is standing up by itself, jammed in the stairwell. We ended up putting a 12″ x 18″ hole in the wall trying to ‘bend’ the very long/deep/wide couch around the corner into our TV room. We ended up having to saw it in half just to extricate it from the stairwell. On the way up we broke the drywall in the kitchen. It was a tough night.
We’re all moved in now. Just in time for the “Deep Freeze” to hit the lower mainland of BC. Being from the prairies I recognized the -20 degree windchill as I filled up with gas on Sunday. The best part of the whole experience is knowing that we won’t be moving again for a while unless someone volunteers to buy us a house, pack all our stuff, move it to the new house. All of that will only be valid if the new house is in Hawaii.
Well, now that I am grown up, I’m getting tired around 9:30. In fact, I was in bed at 11:30 New Year’s Eve. I couldn’t even watch Dick Clark’s Rocking whatever…
